March is turning out to be quite the month! First I am informed by a good friend (you know who you are) that it is craft month (and free workshops are even happening in our delightful town) but it has also come to my attention that March is Small Press Month as well! In the last year and a half or so I have been getting into letterpress printing…my photos are from the School of Visual Concepts where I have been learning this great art.
After spending years designing on a computer letterpress printing is like a breath of fresh air! It’s all the joy of mixing typography, imagery and graphical elements but you get to mix inks, use your hands, and make spontaneous choices as you work. I’m not sure if one little blog post can really do justice to the joy that is letterpress so you will have to take my word for it and enjoy the following links…

I’m delighted to be mentioned on this fantastic blog! I’m sorry we kicked you out of the press workshop but I had a great time! I can definetely see the appeal of letter press. Its so much more satisfying that working on the computer. I hope to explore it more in the future!
