The End of the Road

Well I didn’t exactly meet my original goal…100 photos BEFORE I left on my honeymoon, but I decided what fun is making up projects if you can’t change the rules of the game so…I am wrapping up the projects last 8 images with favorites shot on my excursion in Australia (most were taken in Sydney & Melbourne I think).

I feel like there will be big changes coming soon… so as I get them figured out I will be back with updates. In the meantime click on any of the photos to find out more about them.

With my final classes wrapping up at the end of last week I didn’t have much chance to get out & shoot so I decided I should look back through my highlighted photos from the last two months & finish some of my favorites that I didn’t have time to edit.

So there you have it, just a little randomness to start the last week of the 100 photos project.

Just a nice quiet photo of an adorable apple tree. Hard to believe this is taken in the city right?

Both taken this weekend but each is oh so different! 17 photos and 12 days to go! I think this might be the first art project I have taken on and had a chance of finishing in a long time…usually my short attention span kills a lot of projects pretty fast! Wish me luck!

Lately I have been taking a lot of nostalgic anonymous photos for class so it seemed only fitting that as class & my 100 photos project are winding up I turn the camera on my own life a little.

This photo is of the little people that will be standing on top of my cake in a few weeks. If you know me I am sure you are wondering why they have light hair & blue eyes. Well it’s because that’s what the bakery stuck on my Mom’s cake 30 years ago …even though she is no more light haired/blue eyed than I am! I think these little guys will be getting some paint soon to fix that tiny issue.

Since the sun wasn’t out much this weekend neither was I. Luckily though Friday night was REALLY sunny & I snapped these photos around my neighborhood. I can’t believe I am 21 photos and 19 days away from the wedding! That seems way too close because there is still so much to be done. Back to work for me!

It has been a busy week and I feel like it is only getting busier, maybe that is why my photos seem to be getting more and more simple. I think I am trying to find a calm simplicity in my work that seems to be lacking in my life at the moment. Hmmm… something to reflect on I suppose, well that and why I was drawn to shoot just black + neutrals for some reason?

Little plants & a big wall…and yet there is something calm about it that makes me like it. Maybe it is that “forgotten and left behind” thing that I always seem to love in photographs.

I am not sure where summer went but I hope it comes back to Seattle! I feel like I just got started shooting what felt like summer for me and now every morning it is fog & gray skies. Anyway, i do like some of the photos I snapped this weekend though, even if they do look more Fall than Summer.
